Autonomous and remote-operated technologies have been the source of a lot of discussion in the maritime industry in recent years. New commercial solutions have entered the market, demonstrations of these technologies in use have been published and the IMO has started a review of their current regulations with regards to these technologies. Autonomous and related technologies are also seen as a tool in reducing the CO2 emissions of maritime logistics.
